Seminar Briefs

·       Harassment Training - Customized Anti-Harassment training program to meet the needs of our clients. We work with the clients using their Anti-Harassment policies to insure that training attendees understand the specific procedures and reporting requirements of the organization. Our training includes a discussion of all types of discrimination as protected through Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Americans with Disabilities Act, and the Age Discrimination in Employment Act. The majority of our training session, however, focuses on sexual harassment, as sexual discrimination is often the most misunderstood of all of the prohibited offenses in this arena. In addition, courts have ruled that organizations that conduct proper harassment training have a better defense in the event of litigation than organizations that do not.

·     Identifying & Developing Effective Managers: “People don’t quit companies, they quit managers” - This 2-hour seminar looks at ways to identify and develop effective supervisors and managers, and how to ensure they have the specific management skills necessary to perform to their full potential. The seminar discusses communication, leadership, adaptability, relationships, task management, production, development of others and personal development and how to build these skills in your leaders.

·     The Art of Hiring Smart: How To Identify & Retain Top Performers! - This 2-hour seminar is a must see for business owners, managers and human resource leaders who have responsibility for hiring, training and retaining employees in their businesses. Current tools, techniques and regulatory issues will be discussed that enable employers to avoid costly hiring errors and liabilities while identifying employees who are reliable, hard-working, honest, drug-free and who fit their jobs. The discussion will also answer the question “now that I’ve got ‘em, how do I keep ‘em and optimize their performance?”

·     Interviewing & Hiring Workshop For Small Business Owners and ManagersAn informative and participative 3-hour workshop for supervisors, managers, and small business owners who want to get and keep the best people for their companies, while avoiding the legal pitfalls associated with hiring practices. Topics include: creating useful job descriptions, cost effective ways to source candidates and publicize openings, using pre-employment testing and assessments profitably, interviewing effectively by observing, listening and asking legal questions, and using background checks legally and effectively. Workshop materials include an employee selection and compliance manual that is a “must have” for every small business.

·     Strategic Business Planning: A Roadmap to Success - Putting your business or organization on the path to success, and winning buy-in from your stakeholders, starts with a strong vision of the future. You’ve prepared business plans that establish financial and operational goals. Now learn how strategic planning gets your enterprise to the next level. This workshop takes a practical approach to identifying your organization’s vision, values and mission; analyzing your internal and external competitiveness; setting long-term goals supported by achievable short-term tactics; assessing your assets and resources; establishing performance measures; and getting everyone “on the same page.” This 3-hour workshop is intended for owners, directors, operations and financial leaders of businesses or organizations of all sizes.

·     Customer Service Excellence: Your Competitive Edge! - Who's responsible for customer service in your business? Everybody! This informative 2-hour seminar explores why American businesses are investing more than $100 billion in customer relations management this year alone. You’ll learn how to increase sales, profitability and customer acceptance by defining your customer service values and expectations, and hiring and developing a culture of excellence among your employees. This seminar is not just for people with customer service in their job titles, but for business owners, managers and leaders who understand that customer satisfaction keeps your customers coming back and buying from you again and again!

·     Career Transition Workshop: Moving Up, Over, or Out - No one is born knowing how to plan a career, how to plan for the next step in a promotion or upward progression, or how to deal with the sudden or unexpected loss of a job. This 4-hour workshop is tailored for individuals who are planning a career move, or those who have recently become unemployed. Human Resource leaders and career counseling professionals will also benefit from the material. The workshop examines effective ways to manage change; master the job search process; create resumes for the external search or internal promotion, references and marketing materials; employ proven job search strategies; use technology to conduct research; deliver a winning interview for the internal or external audience; and successfully negotiate an offer of employment. Workshop materials include a comprehensive workbook.
